Hello visit for Cedar Vale pets.

Every dog and cat starts with a short hello visit. They meet us and the room, and we learn what makes them tick.

For Cedar Vale families.

A relaxed first look before their first full day.

A hello visit is a short, relaxed first visit. You bring your dog or cat to Fern Court, meet the team and stay for a while as your pet sniffs around, finds the toys or, for most cats, the highest shelf in the room.

While they explore, we talk with you about their routine, how they get on with other animals, how they like to be handled and what they do when they’ve had enough. Those notes become the start of every day they spend with us.

Afterwards we tell you how it went and talk about what might suit them next: a drop-in day now and then, regular days each week, or a quiet care plan if they prefer a slower pace.

How it goes.

  1. Arrive

    Hello at the door

We say hello to you both and give your pet a few minutes to take in the room.

  2. Explore

    Sniff and settle

Dogs meet a calm friend or two. Cats choose a shelf or a hiding spot and watch.

  3. Chat

    Their notes

While they explore, we talk through routines, handling and what helps them relax.

  4. After

    What’s next

We tell you how it went and talk about the days that might suit them.

For dogs, and for cats.

The same option, planned around who’s coming.

Dogs

  • A short walk before you arrive
  • Their lead and harness
  • A treat they love for the hello

Cats

  • Their own carrier, with a blanket inside
  • Plenty of time to come out by themselves
  • No picking up unless they’re happy to be held

If the first visit feels like a lot.

Some pets walk in and make themselves at home. Others watch from the side for a while, and that’s completely fine. We let your pet set the pace and keep the hello visit calm and short.

If your dog or cat finds it hard, we’ll talk about what might help, like another short visit, a quieter time of day or a quiet care plan. There’s no rush, and we’ll be honest if we think daycare isn’t the right fit.

From Cedar Vale to Fern Court.

Drop off on your way into town from 8:30 am, and collect on your way home before 6:30 pm.

  • On the way to work

Plan a few spare minutes for drop-off so the hello isn’t rushed.

  • Garden dogs

Dogs used to a garden at home often love our garden time. Tell us what they enjoy.

  • Home-loving cats

Cats who rarely leave home may need a slower start. A hello visit helps.

What to bring.

  • A favorite treat or two
