Hello visit for Willow Ridge pets.
Every dog and cat starts with a short hello visit. They meet us and the room, and we learn what makes them tick.
Where everyone starts

For Willow Ridge families.
A calm first visit, at a quiet time if that helps.
A hello visit is a short, relaxed first visit. You bring your dog or cat to Fern Court, meet the team and stay for a while as your pet sniffs around, finds the toys or, for most cats, the highest shelf in the room.
While they explore, we talk with you about their routine, how they get on with other animals, how they like to be handled and what they do when they’ve had enough. Those notes become the start of every day they spend with us.
Afterwards we tell you how it went and talk about what might suit them next: a drop-in day now and then, regular days each week, or a quiet care plan if they prefer a slower pace.
How it goes.
Arrive
Hello at the door
We say hello to you both and give your pet a few minutes to take in the room.
Explore
Sniff and settle
Dogs meet a calm friend or two. Cats choose a shelf or a hiding spot and watch.
Chat
Their notes
While they explore, we talk through routines, handling and what helps them relax.
After
What’s next
We tell you how it went and talk about the days that might suit them.
For dogs, and for cats.
The same option, planned around who’s coming.
Dogs
- A short walk before you arrive
- Their lead and harness
- A treat they love for the hello

Cats
- Their own carrier, with a blanket inside
- Plenty of time to come out by themselves
- No picking up unless they’re happy to be held

If the first visit feels like a lot.
Some pets walk in and make themselves at home. Others watch from the side for a while, and that’s completely fine. We let your pet set the pace and keep the hello visit calm and short.
If your dog or cat finds it hard, we’ll talk about what might help, like another short visit, a quieter time of day or a quiet care plan. There’s no rush, and we’ll be honest if we think daycare isn’t the right fit.
From Willow Ridge to Fern Court.
Drop off from 8:30 am and collect before 6:30 pm. Tell us if a quieter drop-off time suits your pet better.
Older dogs
Tell us about stiff legs, stairs and rest. We plan gentle days with soft beds.
Quiet arrivals
If your pet prefers a calm hello, ask about a quieter drop-off time.
Familiar comforts
Their own blanket or bed can help an older pet settle. Label it with their name.
What to bring.
- Lead and harness, or their carrier
- A favorite treat or two
- Their usual food, if they’re staying a while
- Your questions for the team
